Unquiet Hands - by Katrissa Singer

Transcript of Unquiet hands

Created and narrated by Kat Singer

Note: This video features Kat Singer’s textile figure art and creations. Close-ups of hands hold and manipulate them. The figures resemble humans, monsters and some are entwined with each other.

My unquiet hands unravel, untangle, set free, expose. Clear the path to soothing what refuses to stay buried. Tuck in the loose ends. Kiss them to sleep. These brave hands give shape to the thoughts that escape my mouth. They grapple with the unspoken, tame the unspeakable. These rebellious hands defy the silence imposed on them.

They flutter with intention, hold space for the hurt, nurture the joy. My wise hands reach deep inside my memories, where words are impossible and they sing stories. Wise hands reach deep inside my memories where words are impossible and they sing stories. My wise hands reach deep inside my memories where words are impossible and they sing stories.

Stories of loss, of longing to be close, of suffocating love, of disconnection, of healing, of growth.
