Stories of Autism by Indigenous, Black and Other Makers of Colour on Re•Storying

This curated gallery features some of the stories of makers on the Re•Storying Autism Project who are Indigenous, Black and other People of Colour. Through ableist, racist and settler colonialist logics, these groups have been historically excluded from Autism diagnosis/identity, supports and services. Re•Storying is working alongside Red River Metis, Cree, and other Indigenous collaborators from the land currently known as Manitoba as well as Māori collaborators in Aotearoa New Zealand to decolonize Autism and amplify Indigenous understandings of Autism and approaches to help and services.
